Situated in Jakarta's bustling business district, Stalk envelops the towering trees with a parametric tensile structure, forming a dynamic canvas of light and shadow. This design not only preserves the existing greenery but also enhances the spatial experience for visitors.
Entrance & Transition
The entrance is discreetly nestled among vertical plants, leading visitors through a narrow, greenery-surrounded foyer. This pathway ascends to a 750-square-meter upper bar and restaurant area, offering an immersive journey into the treetop environment.
Structural Design
The upper level is sheltered by a lightweight steel-timber thatch roof, which provides shade and anchors the central parametric tensile canopy. This roof functions dually as a façade and an interior ceiling, transforming into a luminous lantern at night, contributing to Jakarta's vibrant nightlife.
Environmental Integration
The tensile structures act as dynamic shadows, responding to the movement of the trees and wind, creating ever-changing patterns that enhance the sensory experience. This design emphasizes minimal intervention, allowing nature to dictate the form and ambiance of the space.
